University of Wisconsin-Madison Shelter Medicine Program is announcing a great opportunity to learn more about our 2020/2021 Shelter Medicine Internship through a live web conference on Thursday November 21th at 6pm CST. We have open positions for two Maddie's Shelter Medicine Interns for the 2020/2021 year posted through the VIRMP matching program. Our internship is a fantastic one-of-a-kind combination of clinical work at our local shelter Dane County Humane Society, participation in our innovative HSUS Pets for Life veterinary house calls program, and instruction and supervision on shelter consulting, disease outbreak management, diagnostic testing, and shelter medicine research with the UW Shelter Medicine Program team. More details about our shelter medicine internship program and application process can be found on the VIRMP website here.
Our live web conference will be hosted by our UW Maddie’s Clinical Instructor, Dr. Uri Donnett and will be an opportunity for interested applicants to join him and one of our current interns for a virtual tour of Dane County Humane Society and a Q&A session to answer any questions potential applicants may have about our internship. The web conference will be held on Thursday November 21st at 6pm CST and can be joined at the following link: https://us.bbcollab.com/guest/d8e0329ac0c146808c9c5cfb18c99c42
We encourage attendees of the web conference to join on a computer with video and microphone capabilities so you can use video chat but you can also dial in for audio using the following number: 571-392-7650 PIN: 499 354 0597. We hope to be able to record this session to make it available but encourage interested applicants to join live to get the opportunity to speak with Dr. Donnett. Chrome and Firefox are the recommended browsers for the web conference.
